Before you can start bidding with MegaSniper you’ll need to register by providing us with the following information:

Your User Name (login) – For security reasons, we recommend that you select a user name that consists of between 6 to 20 characters and contains a combination of letters, numbers and symbols (periods, commas, hyphens, etc.).
Your Password – Just as it’s important to select a hack-proof user name. You should choose a MegaSniper Account password made up of a combination of 6 to 20 numbers, letters and symbols.
Your Email Address – This is where we’ll be sending your activation link and information about your bids, unless you indicate otherwise, so be sure to provide an address that you’ll be checking regularly. 
How Did You hear About MegaSniper? – Did you “hear” about MegaSniper on Google, from an ad, a friend or did you clink on a banner—please let us know?
eBay Login and Password – Before you can start bidding with MegaSniper, you’ll also need to provide login information for the at least one eBay auction service. You’ll be able to do this later in My MegaSniper>Settings.

Your eBay Account – To use MegaSniper, you will need to have an eBay account. If you don’t have an eBay account, you’ll have to set up one before completing your MegaSniper registration. Once you’ve signed up for eBay, simply go to My MegaSniper>Settings and add your eBay Account. If you have more than one eBay account, you’ll be able to enter several logins by using the Add button. 

Your Default Bid Buffer – When you setup your MegaSniper account you may also change what’s known as a bid buffer. The bid buffer is simply the number of seconds before the end of auction that MegaSniper will place your bid. For instance; if you set your buffer at 8,  MegaSniper will place your bid 8 seconds before the auction closes. 

At the beginning of each auction a default buffer will automatically appear - to expedite the bidding process. You can enter your own default buffer here (the minimum is 3 seconds, the maximum is 120). We’ve found that setting your buffer between 4 and 8 seconds will achieve the best snipping results.

To begin an auction click on “My MegaSniper” or "Start Bidding".  Enter the correct number into the “eBay Item Number” field and click the “Continue”  button. You'll find the item number in the upper right-hand corner of every eBay item page. Don’t forget to double check to be sure that both the description and the auction number match the item you’ve decided to purchase. Then, enter the maximum amount you’re willing to bid, in the applicable currency and the number of the items that you’ve decided to bid on. If you’re using more than one auction service, you’ll also need select the login that applies to each bid. 

Once you’ve entered all of the above, select “Add bid” and check to see if the new bid appears on  your list of pending bids. If so, congratulations, you’ve just successfully logged your first bid with MegaSniper.

The "Add to MegaSniper" feature will allow you to add bids to your MegaSniper bid queue faster and easier!

To add a link to "Add to MegaSniper" to your Favorites:
1. Right click on Add to MegaSniper!
2. Select "Add to Favorites" (Explorer) / Bookmark (Firefox), or drag the link into your toolbar (Netscape)
3. "Add to MegaSniper" will appear in your Favorites/Bookmarks/Toolbar

How to use "Add to MegaSniper"?
1. Open desired eBay item description page.
2. Click on "Add to MegaSniper" in your browser to add this item.

Editing Your Bids – If you’d like to make changes to any aspect of a bid go to your list of pending bids, simply click the edit link and you’ll be able  to make any changes you’d like to your bids. Once you’ve made the changes you’d like to click the “Change” button to confirm them and you’re done.
Note: Remember, you won’t be able to retract or change your bids during the 60 seconds before your buffer kicks in.

The bid buffer is the number of seconds before the end of an auction that MegaSniper will place a bid. For example: If you set your bid buffer at 8, MegaSniper will automatically place your bid 8 seconds before the auction ends. To expedite bidding, a default buffer appears automatically each time you begin a bid on MegaSniper.

Each time you bid, you’ll be able to set a separate buffer simply by entering the desired time in the “buffer” field when you enter your bid (the minimum buffer  is 3 second and  the maximum is 120). We’ve found that setting a buffer time somewhere between 4 and 8 seconds will win the most auctions.

To set your default buffer go to My MegaSniper>Settings

Conditions – For each of your bids, you’ll be able to request that certain actions be taken depending on the outcome of that bid.

Here’s an Example: Let’s say that you’re interested in buying a camera and a camera case separately.  You tell MegaSniper not to place your bid on the case if you don’t win the auction for the camera.

Instructions:  Go to your list of pending bids and click the Conditions link next to the bid for the camera—where you can specify the limitations for this pending bid. To add an action to the bid  in the “Condition” window, simply select the “If Bid Is Unsuccessful” field then select the bid for the case and select “Retract Your Bid,” then click the “Add Conditions” button to confirm.

Note: There will need to be at least 4 minutes between the condition and the end of the auction.

What Are Cluster Bids For? – It’s simple . . . If you’re interested in a particular item and several auctions are offering it at various times, you can set up a group of bids known as a cluster. MegaSniper will automatically retract any remaining bids once you’ve won. Using “Clusters” will definitely increase your chances for success.

To create a cluster bid select the “Cluster Bids” menu tab then enter your name for this Bid Cluster in the “Create a Name for Your Bid Cluster” field then click "Continue". Set the maximum number of times MegaSniper should bid on the items you’d like to buy in the "Set Bid Limit for This Bid Cluster" field then click "Save".

To retract a bid, go to your list of pending bids, click the Retract link then click the “Retract” button on the “Bid Retraction” form to confirm.

Note: Remember, you won’t be able to change or retract your bids during the last 60 seconds before a scheduled bid.

Loading Your MegaSniper Account – To load your account, simply log in, click the “Load Account” and then follow the instructions.

Printing an Invoice – To print an invoice, after you’ve logged-in, simply go to the invoice option and under My MegaSniper. Receipts are available for all purchases.

Your E-Mail Address – Your e-mail is the only way we’ll have to communicate with you. It’s where we’ll send information about the status of your bids. Changing Your Password or E-mail Address – To change your password go to “Setup,” enter your current password in the “Old password” field then type your new password in  both the “New Password” fields and you’re all set.
To change your email address, simply go to the field marked “Change e-mail”, enter your new address preference and click “Change.”  We’ll send an e-mail containing an activate link to your new address.

Your Auction Service Set-Up – To make changes to your auction service set-up, simply login, then go to the “Setup” tab, and select set-up “eBay Account.”

Enter the new login and password for the given service. (you can enter several logins, using the “Add” button)  To change the password for a given auction service login, enter the new password and press the “Change” button. To remove a login from one of your accounts, simply click the “Remove” button.

Trouble Logging In – If you have any trouble logging into MegaSniper, first check your browser’s security setting to make sure that you it accepts cookies. To use MegaSniper, you’ll need to accept them.

Changing the Number of Auctions Highlighted on One Page – To change the number of auctions highlighted on one page, go to the Setup Tab. In the “Highlighting Option” field, enter the default number of auctions you’d like highlighted on each page.
